How would i get started on building a Lamborghini Murcielago Kit Car?
I need to know where to buy the parts from and some instructions on how to paint it. And would $6,000 be enough money for a good start on this project.|||My guess is that you want to build this kit car yourself. There are many things to consider before doing so.
I can give you 3 simple steps off the top of my head. This is the cheapest way to build one.
1. You will need a rolling frame to start off. I suggest you use a wrecked Toyota MR2 with no frame damage- $1500
2. Give the donor engine a tune up $400
3. Buy a Murcielago body kit for the MR2- about $4000
I dont want to put you down man, but building something like this will cost you about $20,000
In order to get a mint paintjob you will need to sand the panels and prime them. Quality car paint (regardless color) will cost you about $250 per gallon!
-- $4000 could start you off fine if you're an experienced mechanic. But if you new to this, please don't do it yourself. You will regret it, its a lot of work.

Where is the transmission located on a Lamborghini Diablo?
I've asked this question of mechanics and gotten three different replies. So; what is the layout of the engine, transmission and final drive on this car?|||Let a big girl answer this one. Little boys don't have access to these cars.
The engine in the Diablo is mounted backwards behind the driver in unit with the transmission and the final drive (differential). The transmission runs forward under the centre console and the gearshift lever is attached directly to it. The final drive from the transmission goes back through the engine sump to the rear diff - and a set off transfer gears sends power to the front wheels via a carbon fibre drive shaft.
Lamborghini is the only car company to use this configuration at this time. My old boyfriend used to drive a Diablo. These cars suck out loud.

You might was to look for a V-6 powered model though. Look for a GT model. (The 2M4 models were underpowered with GM's Iron Duke 4 cylinder model.) The GT's were made after '85 I believe, so that leaves you with 1985-88's.

Can Lamborghini Murcielago manage the everyday?
Can a Lamborghini Murcielago make it in the everyday? On a neighbor street? Turning left in an intersection? Merging in on the highway? I know it's powerful but can it manage 25 miles per hour? Fit into a parking space?|||It's possible to make it in the every day. However, the Automated manual gearbox in most Lamborghinis is rough at low speeds with jerky gear changes. Merging on the highway should be no problem at all - it does 0 to 60 in three seconds or so. Going up steep driveways would be hard, and visibility, especially to the rear is very limited. when i'm younger, i dream was to own a lamborghini. but as times goes by, i notice in singapore, even if you have one, it will be just like another taxi... cos when you havent even reach the 3rd gear or sometimes even worst, 2nd gear, you will reach another traffic light..

Would you pay $80 To test drive a Ferrari Or Lamborghini for 10 minutes?
Just a business idea I have. Need to know if there would be enough people who would pay about $80 to test drive a current model Ferrari or Lamborghini for 10-15 minutes. Not on a track or anything, just normal driving on the road with me in the car. I know if someone offered I'd pay it.
And please say which car you'd rather drive, Ferrari or Lamborghini.|||I will pay it right away, and i will prefer to test drive a Ferrari.
The thing is that i don't think is a very good idea for the price you are trying to charge. The liability that you will have is to much for the price you're asking. For example, imagine the first day and your first customer, you go for a ride and BAM he crash you car, there goes your business.
In betwen wich one i will choose, i'll prefer the Ferrari, Because of the history that it has and it is a pure Italian car. The Lamborghini now is owned by Volkswagen.|||I've driven, very sparingly, an LP640 and a F430 and prefer the F430 10x over the Lamborghini. I'd love a go at a Gallardo though. Both cars that I've driven have been on Nevada highways at speeds well over the national speed limit.

The thing is that i don't think is a very good idea for the price you are trying to charge. The liability that you will have is to much for the price you're asking. For example, imagine the first day and your first customer, you go for a ride and BAM he crash you car, there goes your business.
In betwen wich one i will choose, i'll prefer the Ferrari, Because of the history that it has and it is a pure Italian car. The Lamborghini now is owned by Volkswagen.|||I've driven, very sparingly, an LP640 and a F430 and prefer the F430 10x over the Lamborghini. I'd love a go at a Gallardo though. Both cars that I've driven have been on Nevada highways at speeds well over the national speed limit.

Once, I had the pleasure of driving in a lamborghini murcielago, and I noticed a button that opened and closed vents on either side of the car, near the engine. If this car is fuel injected, and not naturally aspirated, what is the purpose of these vents?

first of all what is the manual transmission??? and how does it work on the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4?|||the manual transmission in the 560 is no different than the previous gallardos. the only difference in the transmission of the 560 only applies to the e-gear tranny. the 560 e-gear is now equipped with launch control and a rotational gear selector to replace its traditional fore/aft movement giving it a 40% quicker shift. however the manual transmission remains a gated shifter 6 speed.

Would you have a Lamborghini with a Beetle's engine, or a Beetle with a Lamborghini's engine?
I'm talkin' an old beetle, like 60's vintage. 0-100 in 15 sec stuff. In good condition though. The Lamborghini is a Murciealago. 0 - 100 in 4 sec! So the performance figures would be reversed...|||To answer your intriguing question,

Currently I do not know the cost of the kit, but, you can check out various web sites and compare cost.
You can save money by doing the kit yourself or if you are not sure of the job at hand there are professional body shops that can do the job for you for a fee.

Can I use mig welding to weld on lamborghini style doors on my car?
i want to put Lamborghini style doors on my car and i want to mig weld it and can i also weld things to the chassis like if i would put air suspension on it, and does mig welding require any gas or should i put it on a specific number?|||First off, are you a good welder? If you have limited experience, you will not get good weld penetration with a MiG welder. Also if you use one of the cheap welders that you can buy at Lowe's or auto parts stores, they don't produce enough power to get a deep penetrating weld.
MIG means machine inert gas. Those cheap welders are called MiG but are just wire feed welders and not MiG. You must use gas to get a good weld. A cheap gas to use if you are a good welder is carbon dioxide. The weld is good only if you are very experienced. Next you can use 75/25 gas mix which is 75 % argon and 25 % carbon dioxide. Doesn't take as much skill and produces a reasonable weld. For a top job, use 100% argon. It costs a little more but does so much more.
If you buy a MiG, get a good one in the $2000 dollar range, such as a commercial Lincoln, Miller or Hobart. Go to welding school at your local Vo-tech and practice, practice, practice. Once you learn, you can weld car doors, bodies, exhaust, frame or anything else you so desire. As a good MiG welder, you can get a top paying job and be set for life. I prefer a auto darkening helmet when I weld. It makes learning so much easier.|||let a professional do it before you screw it up|||If it's a Home depot welder good luck. Therefore, do not buy any of the car-wash products from retail stores, because most products have a high acidity content, which can cause the car's clear coat to diminish. The Brand-name washer you should buy is " Mothers". Also, it would be advisable to wax your car after washing it. As well, buy the Carnauba wax from Mothers as well.
~I have washed several Murcielagos and Gallardos using this method:
1) first, rinse the car with water. This will loosen the dirt.
2) apply the Mothers washer on a synthetic sponge and rub the car in circular motions. Then rinse down the area. Repeat over several times.
3) Dry off the car with a synthetic wipe or towel.
4)apply Mothers wax onto the car, and use a buffer or wipe to evenly polish your car.
5)let your car sit for 15 min, the wax coat will harden and set, giving the car a glossy look with optimum protection.

The only racing game that i know of that has a Lamborghini Reventon is Need For Speed Shift. I do not like Need For Speed Shift because its not as fun as the other Need For Speed games. Where can I rent or drive a lamborghini?
I am getting married in September (in dayton OH) and my fiancee really wanted to rent a lamborghini to leave in. First, there are no rental places around here that have lamborghinis, and second, I didn't really want to spend two grand to drive the car for a few hours. I am coming into a serious amount of money in the next few years due to a big movie deal and have decided to fulfill a lifelong goal of owning a Lamborghini. How much would a Lamborghini gallardo 2005 cost for a tune up? Plz answer|||There really is no such thing as a "tune-up" on modern vehicles. For older vehicles, a tune-up was necessary to check and adjust the timing, replace the points and condenser in the distributor, readjust the fuel mixture, etc.
These days, those components either don't exist, or it is computer controlled and adjusted automatically. While the term still tune-up still floats around, today it is little more than replacing the spark plugs and perhaps checking the condition of the spark plug wires and filters.
Having said that, even just installing the spark plugs in a Gallardo engine would be quite pricey I'm sure.|||If you have to ask, its probably out of your price range. Sorry :(

I mean Ferrari is for like serious racing like formula one and ferrari challenge, but lamborghini doesn't have that it's just for show. I know some lamboes can be fast but compared to Ferrari it's rubbish. I believe they are overpriced, overrated and just a big heavy status symbol. I can't really afford a lambo, so that's why I choose Maserati. I am a part owner in a GranTurismo S, I find them so much cheaper the Lamborghini, and truly they are a race car. Much lighter, and it has great grip in the turns.
